Dean Soumitra Dutta named chairman of AACSB International’s 2017-18 board of directors

Dean Soumitra Dutta is named chairman of the board of Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for 2017-18 term.

On July 1, 2017, Soumitra Dutta, dean of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, began his one-year term as chairman of the board of directors of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. Dutta has been an active volunteer for AACSB for more than six years, has served on multiple committees, and was elected to the AACSB International Board of Directors as a member in 2014 and as the vice chair-chair elect in 2016. His most recent role was as chair of the Innovation Committee, which focuses on cultivating ideas and progressing business education.

Over the years, Dutta has provided important insight, expertise, and direction to the AACSB, with a focus on driving growth and innovation. In regards to his new appointment, Dutta commented:

“I am very pleased to serve as chair of the AACSB International Board of Directors, and look forward to supporting the organization and advancing its mission. In addition, I am looking forward to building new networks with leaders and business schools across the globe to further our goals.”
