He has been working in the research institute since graduating from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>China Unicom<\/strong>: China Unicom (\u4e2d\u56fd\u8054\u901a) is one of the three dominant state-owned telecommunication companies in China and the world&#8217;s fourth largest mobile service provider by subscriber base. China Unicom has the largest WCDMA network worldwide, with 0.3 billion mobile users and 0.15 billion 3G &amp; 4G users. China Unicom\u2019s Research Institute is the research arm of the company and was founded in 1952 as the research institute of the Ministry of Telecommunication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Chen will discuss the opportunities that the big data from China&#8217;s telecommunication industry present and present the big data strategy in China Unicom by describing the type of data they own (9TB or 100 billion records per day) and what values they bring. CICER researchers hope to leverage their data for research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presentation will be in Chinese.
