The Emerging Markets Institute (EMI)<\/a> at Johnson at Cornell University has joined the U.S. –Russia Business Council (USRBC)<\/a>, with offices in Washington, DC and Moscow.  Supporting its goal to be a leading international program in emerging markets research and education by uniting preeminent practitioners and academics, EMI’s membership to the council will provide Johnson and the institute unique access to corporations with business interests in Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Johnson and EMI,” said Richard Coyle<\/a>, Executive Director of EMI.  “We greatly look forward to tapping into the myriad ways this membership can enhance EMI, its students and other stakeholders.  Russia has a rapidly growing economy and membership to the USRBC will increase the opportunities for Johnson students, alumni and faculty to imprint this emerging market.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The USRBC provides senior management of American companies a forum to continually monitor their Russian market strategies as conditions change. For Russian companies looking to raise their profile and grow their business – within Russia and in the United States — the USRBC leverages relationships with major industry players, international finance organizations, and U.S. government agencies to assist in strategic planning and in partner searches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ed Verona, President of the USRBC commented, “I am very pleased to welcome the Emerging Markets Institute as a member of the US\/Russia Business Council.  Their participation will bring valuable insights and expertise to our organization, and broaden the range of our contacts with a leading business school.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EMI will participate in “Russia on the cusp” the 2011 USRBC Annual Meeting<\/a> in October in Chicago, Oct. 3-5.  Coyle says that EMI’s participation will prove a ‘win-win’ for EMI as well as the USRBC.  For EMI, it will provide countless networking and learning opportunities. For the USRBC, EMI will offer participation in industry-oriented conferences, forums and roundtables and will provide the opportunity for practitioners to access EMI’s research and discuss common issues related to global emerging markets.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
