Google Food seeks to do its part with its own sustainability initiatives. In March 2022, it announced two pledges to reduce and divert food waste from its food operations. This was done after several years of development on a five-pillar, twenty-solution area plan to halve its food waste per employee by 2025 and divert any remaining food waste from landfill. However, one of Google Food\u2019s toughest challenges has been the lack of composting facilities in a number of cities where the company has its facilities.
