Rodney Clough ’94
Rod Clough, MAI, is Managing Partner of the Denver hotel consulting and valuation division of HVS, the world’s leading hospitality consultancy, and co-founder of the HVS offices in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and St. Louis. Rod has been working with hotels since his student days at Cornell’s Statler Hotel in Ithaca, New York. Achievements over his 20-year career in hospitality include coordinating nearly 200 hotel appraisals internationally for the $26-billion sale of the Hilton portfolio in 2007; conducting the analysis of the proposed convention headquarters hotel for the City of Dallas in 2008/09; orchestrating more than 500 hotel appraisals for the Tharaldson and La Quinta portfolios in 2011; and overseeing appraisals of all hotel assets in the Motel 6 and ExtendedStay Hotels portfolios in 2012—two of the biggest hotel transactions and refinancing deals in history. He is a Designated Member (MAI) of the Appraisal Institute. Rod regularly volunteers and organizes events at his daughters’ school and supports important causes in his hometown. Rod is also the co-owner of a candy store in the Old Town district of Fort Collins.
