Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training (BEST): Rethinking training for Cornell STEM graduate (PhD) students and postdoctoral scholars to enhance training opportunities to prepare students for careers that could take them beyond conventional academic research.
Cornell Angel Network – A service that brings together new businesses that are either “Cornell Startups” or “Cornellian Startups” with “Cornell Angels” interested in investing in new businesses related to Cornell.
Center for Transformative Action: A nonprofit incubator for social entrepreneurs that also provides curricular and extra-curricular educational opportunities in social change and social entrepreneurship.
Institute for Social Sciences – Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship – This project is aimed at understanding how novel ideas are created, developed, valued, and diffused, leading to ground-breaking changes in cultural, social, and economic interaction. The group seeks to lay the foundation for a new social science of creativity and innovation, enhancing scholarship and research, as well as practices and policies that foster entrepreneurship.
Kessler Fellows Program – This program offers select junior engineering students a year-long experience that combines learning while they are at Cornell and exposure to the startup culture through a summer placement in a company or other entrepreneurial environment.
Cornell Center for Materials Research –Supports three Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) and a number of smaller “seed” research groups through an NSF MRSEC grant and Cornell University support. Each group brings researchers from a variety of different departments together to work on an outstanding interdisciplinary problem in materials research and development.
Cornell CoFoundersLab – A partnership between Entrepreneurship at Cornell and CoFoundersLab, which provides the Cornell University community with a cost-free means to find a cofounder or business partner.
eHub – A collaboration and coworking space fostering entrepreneurship for the entire Cornell community
eLab – A collaboration between Entrepreneurship at Cornell and Student Agencies, eLab is an intense student business accelerator.
Internship Program – Internships for entrepreneurial students interested in opportunities to gain essential experience in small to mid-sized businesses located throughout the US and abroad.
New Venture Research – An online guide to research resources to generate or validate an idea, develop a business plan, create pro forma financial statements, or prepare your plan to pitch to investors. The guide also provides time-saving research strategies and demonstrates key resources to explore different facets of writing and pitching a business plan.
BR Startup Suite – The suite provides students real-world, hands-on opportunities to become founders, advisors, or investors. Johnson students provide a complete suite of entrepreneurship services: capital, consulting, and counsel.
Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise – The center goal is to pioneer new approaches to business model creation and cultivating business leaders who seek competitive advantage through sustainable global strategies.
Smith Family Business Initiative – Connecting students, alumni, and business owners from family and privately held enterprises from across the globe.
BR Legal – A joint program between the Cornell University Law School and the Johnson Graduate School of Management that allows the law school students, under the supervision of mentoring lawyers, to provide legal services to startup companies.
3D Printing at Cornell – You can print almost anything with a 3D printer and it’s easier than you think!
Ithaca Venture Community – A grassroots volunteer group that brings together student and professional entrepreneurs in Ithaca for networking and growth opportunities.
Life Changing Labs – A nonprofit organization that supports Cornell University’s student entrepreneurs.
Making and Makerspaces at Cornell – “Makerspaces, sometimes also referred to as hackerspaces, hackspaces, and fablabs are creative, DIY spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn. In libraries they often have 3D printers, software, electronics, craft and hardware supplies and tools, and more” (Kroski, 2013)
Rev: Ithaca StartUp Works – A business incubator developed in partnership with New York state, and Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Tompkins Cortland Community College.
