Student Perspectives – Alex Levy, SHA ’18
Through the generosity of the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship and the Blackstone Launchpad, I was able to attend the Forbes Under 30 Summit this past October in Boston, MA. The summit consisted of a variety of panels in areas ranging from tech and capital to impact and creation, pitch competitions, musical performances, and a food festival. I was fortunate enough to attend panels and events moderated and given by various thought leaders including Virgin Group’s Sir Richard Branson, Blackstone’s Jon Gray, WeWork’s Adam Neumann, and Olympians Michael Phelps and Aly Raisman. The programming also included a spectacular performance in the Under 30 Village by 2016 honorees Jason Derulo and Halsey. The entire weekend was filled with amazing networking, reconnecting with old friends, and just a few too many Uber rides across the city. I highly implore all student entrepreneurs and all with an entrepreneurial spirit to attend a conference like this. You will be surrounded by amazing innovation and engage in some of the most thought-provoking conversations. Who knows, you may even end up with a new career or company idea!
