Associate Professor of Strategy at SKEMA Business SchoolAmbra Mazzelli is an Associate Professor of Strategy at SKEMA Business School. Originally from Italy, Ambra has lived and worked in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Boston (USA), Montreal (Canada), and Lancaster (UK). Before joining SKEMA, she was an Assistant Professor at the Asia School of Business and an International Faculty Fellow and Research Affiliate at MIT Sloan.
Ambra’s research investigates the psychological underpinnings of firms’ strategic decisions, with a particular focus on family businesses. She is especially interested in goal multiplicity—how family firms navigate and manage multiple, potentially conflicting, priorities among family members. Her work has appeared in top-tier journals, including Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management Studies, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Long Range Planning.
Beyond academia, Ambra has passionately advised her own family business in the hospitality industry in Italy. She has also actively consulted on more than fifty projects with large international firms and conglomerates, working at both strategic and operational levels. She continues to advise managers and executives at publicly listed companies and large private firms across Asia and Europe.
