Mentorscape

The Smith Family Business Initiative is pleased to announce the creation of the Cornell Family Business Mentorscape. This is an outgrowth of our popular Sam Seltzer ’48 Mentors Forum and provides year-round access to our slate of mentors. The SFBI has created this mentors’ platform with the goal of connecting our Cornell students and recent alumni with the vast expertise within the SFBI network.

The Mentorscape platform does several things:

  1. Organizes all of our mentors into one place.
  2. Streamlines the connection process; the SFBI moderates all mentorship requests.
  3. Allows the SFBI to track the quantity and quality of the engagements.

How it Works

  • Students interested in meeting with a mentor should click the “Meet With” button below the mentor they would like to connect with.
  • You will be directed to a survey to fill out your contact information, select which mentor(s) you would like to network with, and type a message to send the mentor.
  • Once completed, the mentor(s) will receive a notification including the information you filled out. They will be in contact shortly to set up a formal meeting.
