Applied economics & policy

The applied economics and policy (AEP) area unites more than 40 Cornell SC Johnson College of Business faculty who apply rigorous economic theory and analytical methods to pressing public‑policy and business challenges at the local, national and global levels. Building on Cornell’s land‑grant mission and a century of engaged scholarship, AEP faculty are internationally recognized for expertise in food and agricultural economics; environmental, energy and resource economics; international and development economics; and real estate finance.

Faculty from the Nolan School of Hotel Administration and the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management lead undergraduate majors and minors in applied economics and management and real estate, as well as professional degree programs, including MPS programs in real estate and agricultural and life sciences. Students may also pursue M.S. and PhD degrees through the graduate field of applied economics and management, with additional training available through the Cornell Baker Program in Real Estate.
