Operations, technology & information management

The operations, technology and information management (OTIM) area at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business brings together faculty whose research and teaching span operations and supply chain management, technology strategy and information systems, as well as hospitality areas such as food and beverage management and real estate development and management. Faculty teach undergraduate and graduate students, as well as executives, using a range of hands‑on and analytical approaches. Many faculty also engage directly with industry, helping organizations solve complex operational and technological challenges.

Operations, technology and information management (OTIM) faculty research addresses a broad set of topics that shape how organizations operate and innovate, including data analytics, decision‑making, forecasting, e‑commerce, logistics, pricing and revenue management, service innovation and sustainability. Additional areas of focus include health care and hospitality systems, retail operations, simulation and optimization and technology‑enabled services. Their work is regularly published in leading academic journals and informs both business practice and policy, helping students understand how to design, manage and improve systems in a rapidly changing global environment.
