Strategy & business economics
Faculty in the strategy and business economics area explore how markets and organizations function — and how they can work more effectively to create value and improve outcomes for society. Their research addresses key questions at the intersection of economics and business, with strengths in industrial organization and strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation, organizational and personnel economics, and behavioral economics. Using rigorous theoretical and empirical methods, faculty generate insights that inform business strategy, public policy and competitive decision‑making in a rapidly evolving global economy.
Faculty teach across undergraduate, professional graduate and doctoral programs, offering a range of core and elective courses that connect economic theory with real‑world application. Students study topics such as strategy, microeconomics, innovation, entrepreneurship, pricing, macroeconomics and international trade, game theory and human resource economics. Through this work, students gain the analytical tools and strategic thinking skills needed to understand markets, guide organizations and drive meaningful impact throughout their careers.
