Biography

Jorge L. Colón earned a B.S. from Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, a D.V.M. from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and an MBA with a finance certificate from Colorado State University’s College of Business. He spent 25 years in clinical practice in Lexington, Kentucky, as an equine ambulatory veterinarian and has worked as a private business consultant and educator since 2014.

He joined the Cornell Center for Veterinary Business and Entrepreneurship (CVBE) in 2020 as a professor of practice in financial and organizational management. He leads the development and implementation of veterinary business education within the curriculum, builds executive education outreach programs and strengthens partnerships with faculty across the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, Veterinary College alumni and CVBE collaborators.

Colón is the author of Essential Business Concepts for Veterinary Professionals and holds an affiliated faculty appointment at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
