Harry M. Kaiser

Biography

Harry M. Kaiser is the Gellert Family Professor Emeritus in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. He has written 160 refereed journal articles, six books, 17 book chapters and more than 200 research bulletins, received $8 million in research grants and is a fellow of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association. Kaiser retired on June 30, 2026, but remains active in research.

In 2005, Kaiser was elected president of the Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association. He received the Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, the highest honor given to its alumni. He also received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota, the university’s highest alumni honor, and the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota in 2009. In 2025, Kaiser received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service.
