Steven Gal is a career entrepreneur, entrepreneurship professor, and advisor. He teaches entrepreneurship at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. He began his 30-year teaching career as an associate professor at University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He’s also served as a visiting professor at University of California San Diego’s Rady School of Management and taught at universities globally.

As an operating entrepreneur, Gal co-founded multiple venture capital backed technology companies beginning with the advent of the commercial internet, resulting in over $1.5 billion in exits across several successful sales, one IPO, and one failure.

As an advisor, Gal has been an active supporter of entrepreneurial founders throughout his career, advising founders and family businesses. In addition, he has invested in many of the companies, venture capital funds, and other business ventures started by graduates of his entrepreneurship classes, and has started new ventures with former students and fellow faculty members.

Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at SC Johnson, where he is past chair of the Entrepreneurship at Cornell advisory council. He is an attorney and a member of the California Bar.
