Biography
Yaniv Grinstein has been a full-time faculty member at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management for more than 15 years. He is currently serving part-time as an adjunct professor of finance. Grinstein's research and teaching interests are in corporate finance and corporate governance. He has been published in several journals, including The Journal of Finance, The Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, The Journal of Financial Intermediation, and others.
His research has been widely cited in major newspapers, such as The Economist, Financial Times, New York Times, Forbes, Time, and Washington Post, as well as in Congress hearings. Grinstein is the recipient of the Sharpe Award for the best paper published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis in 2020, the Best Paper Award from the Boca Corporate Finance and Governance Conference in 2020, the Research Excellence Award from IDC Herzliya in 2016, the Management Science Distinguished Service Award in 2014, the Best Paper Award from The Journal of Financial Intermediation in 2006, and the Best Paper in Corporate Finance Award from the Southwestern Finance Association in 2005.
He is also the recipient of the Best Teacher Award from the Cornell Executive MBA Program in 2018, 2016, and 2013. Grinstein was a member of the European Corporate Governance Institute and between the years 2006-2007, and he visited the Securities and Exchange Commission as a visiting academic scholar.
