Biography
Jessica V. Tracey is a lecturer at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, in the services management area. Tracey teaches courses in accounting and hotel development and management.
Prior to joining the Nolan School, Tracey was a visiting lecturer in the Sloan Program in Health Administration in the Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy teaching graduate-level courses in accounting and finance. She has also been an instructor for eCornell from 2008 to 2024, specializing in hospitality, real estate, and financial management.
Outside of Cornell, Tracey is the founder and principal of JVT Hospitality, which provides financial, strategic, and operational advisory services to hotel operators, developers and investors. Her expertise encompasses the entire lifecycle of hotel development and combines deep industry knowledge with sophisticated analytic capabilities to inform strategic and operational decision making. She has a track record of anticipating market trends and providing value-adding insights, particularly in project feasibility, due diligence and valuation.
Tracey has completed projects for several developers, hotel companies and investment firms, including Turnberry Associates, Brookfield Properties, Ian Schrager Company, and Windsor Capital Group in several markets, including New York, Miami, and Nashville. She also has considerable advisory experience in Mexico and the Caribbean. Tracey previously worked for Jones Lang LaSalle, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Lehman Brothers.
She earned her BS with distinction from the Nolan School, and her MBA with distinction from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. She also holds a graduate minor in real estate.
