Biography

Michael Lynn is a professor emeritus of consumer behavior and marketing at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. He received his Ph.D. in social psychology from The Ohio State University in 1987 and has taught in marketing departments in business and hospitality schools since 1988.

Lynn paid his way through school by waiting tables and bartending, an experience that sparked his interest in service gratuities.
