Biography

James Minas is an assistant teaching professor of operations, technology and information management at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. He has taught and developed courses in spreadsheet modeling, optimization, machine learning, statistical modeling and decision analysis.

Minas’ research uses quantitative methods to generate insights into complex business problems. His application areas include disaster response, supply chain resilience, contract design and tax policy. His work has appeared in outlets such as Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Operational Research and Journal of the Operational Research Society.
