Biography
Cynthia (Mingye) Yin is an assistant professor of finance at Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business. Her research spans asset pricing, corporate policies, climate finance, and ESG. Recent work shows how real-world production frictions limit the ability of sustainable investing to shift firms’ environmental and social behavior, underscoring the role of technological innovation alongside financial incentives. Yin holds a Ph.D. in Finance from The Ohio State University, an M.S. in Financial Engineering from New York University, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Nankai University.
