Biography
Simone Tang is an associate professor of organizational behavior at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. She studies morality and ethics in organizations, examining how people’s moral values shape attitudes, judgments and behaviors. Her work explores how loyalty can lead to irrational decision‑making and the complex consequences of corporate personhood, contributing to broader conversations about moral psychology and ethical behavior.
An interdisciplinary scholar, Tang has published in leading management, psychology and criminology journals, including Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Management Science, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Cognitive Science and Journal of Criminal Justice. Her research has been featured in The New York Times, Psychology Today, Fast Company and Management Today, reflecting its reach across academic and public audiences.
Tang was a faculty fellow at the Cornell Center for Social Sciences from 2021 to 2022 and is a recipient of the Affinito‑Stewart grant. She holds a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in criminology from the University of Pennsylvania and earned her Ph.D. from Duke University, grounding her work in rigorous, interdisciplinary approaches to organizational behavior.
