Biography
Simone Tang is an associate professor of organizational behavior. She holds a BA in psychology and an MA in criminology from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her PhD from Duke University.
As part of her research on morality and ethics, she examines how people’s moral values influence their attitudes, judgments, and behaviors. For example, she has studied how feelings of loyalty increase irrational decision-making and the positive and negative consequences of corporate personhood.
As an interdisciplinary researcher, she has published in management, psychology, and criminology journals, including Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Management Science, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Cognitive Science, and Journal of Criminal Justice. Her work has been featured in media outlets such as The New York Times, Psychology Today, Fast Company, and Management Today. She was a faculty fellow at the Cornell Center for Social Sciences from 2021 to 2022 and a recipient of the Affinito-Stewart grant.
