Chekitan Dev, the Singapore Tourism Distinguished Professor and professor of marketing at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, and case writer Laure Mougeot Stroock have coauthored a new Center for Hospitality Research case study: “Hotel Il San Pietro di Positano: Strengthening an Extraordinary Independent Brand.” Developed as the basis for class discussion, the case focuses on the storied, independent Italian hotel, the Hotel Il San Pietro di Positano, and how it can leverage its brand strengths to grow and remain competitive in its sixth decade of business.

Students studying the case will need to determine how the hotel should leverage its brand, balance its services and pricing, and recruit the next generation of employees.

The case was published by the Center for Hospitality Research at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration.
