What are your research and teaching areas of focus?

My research focuses on designing data-efficient algorithms to guide personalized decision-making. Many problems I study are inspired by applications in healthcare and online platforms.

What class(es) will you be teaching this year?

I will be teaching an MBA core course, Data Analytics and Modeling.

What attracted you to the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business and to the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, specifically?

I love the diverse, collegial, talented operations, technology, and information management group. Being at the Johnson School also provides many opportunities to work first-hand on important and impactful real-world problems, which I sincerely cherish. Plus, Cornell has a very flexible system, so I can collaborate freely with faculty and students from other schools for interdisciplinary research.

What are you most looking forward to during your first year at Johnson?

Getting to know my wonderful colleagues and starting some new collaborations!

What’s the best book you’ve read this year?

Possibly Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen (with verse translations by Geoffrey Hill).

What do you do to recharge?

I read books, listen to music, visit art museums, and go shopping.
