Biography
Benjamin Musah Abu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Food Economics, University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana. He has worked with the university throughout his career, where he rose from Senior Research Assistant to his current rank. He holds a PhD in Applied Agricultural Economics and Policy from the University of Ghana. He is an agricultural and applied economist whose research focuses on impact evaluation and applied microeconomic analysis of poverty, productivity, employment, food security and nutrition, agricultural commercialization, and financial inclusion of farm households. He has contributed to several policy and research initiatives across Africa and worked with organizations including the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Oxfam-Ghana, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), and Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP).
Research Topic: Heterogenous Impacts of Agricultural Land Tenure Arrangements on Agricultural Commercialization: Panel Data Evidence from Ghana.
Research Interests: Agricultural commercialization, impact evaluation, food security and nutrition and financial inclusion.
