Biography

Barbara Mink is a management communication professional specializing in intercultural communication, leadership and persuasion. As a teaching professor of management communication at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, she teaches students to craft clear, concise and compelling persuasive and informational presentations.

Mink was news director of WHCU radio from 1978 to 1986 and taught radio journalism at Ithaca College and Cornell. She served on the Tompkins County Legislature for 12 years, including five as chair, and founded and directed the Light in Winter Festival of Science and the Arts from 1999 to 2011. She has also been a visiting lecturer in communication and leadership at ESCP Europe in Paris and AVT Business School in Copenhagen.

In addition to her academic and professional work, Mink is an active painter with an international presence.
