Biography
Ben Davison is a managing director and co-head of hospitality on the real estate equity team at BDT & MSD Partners. The firm’s real estate strategy takes a fundamental, value-oriented approach, focusing on high-quality assets with significant barriers to entry and strong long-term growth potential.
BDT & MSD’s hospitality portfolio includes Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii; Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail; Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole; Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World® Resort; The Boca Raton; Waldorf Astoria Washington D.C.; and several large-scale developments. These include the newly opened Naples Beach Club — featuring a Four Seasons resort and Discovery Land Company residences and club — and the soon-to-open Knox Street in Dallas, anchored by an Auberge Collection hotel and residences.
Before joining BDT & MSD in early 2021, Davison led hotel acquisitions, development and asset management for RFR Holding, whose hospitality assets included W South Beach in Miami, 11 Howard in New York City and The Jaffa Hotel in Tel Aviv. Earlier in his career, he worked at Hotel Capital Advisors, an affiliate of Kingdom Holding, where he supported asset management and transactions for hotel investments such as Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, The Savoy in London and The Plaza in New York City. He also worked on brand investments involving Four Seasons, Fairmont and Mövenpick in North America and Europe. Davison began his career at Ernst & Young.
Davison earned a bachelor’s degree from the Nolan School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, with a concentration in real estate, and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board. He is a member of the AH&LA Investment Roundtable and a board observer for Auberge Collection. He also serves on the national board of the Culinary Careers Program (C•CAP), a nonprofit focused on workforce development for future food and hospitality leaders.
He lives in New York City with his wife, Dr. Janette Davison ’05, and their two children.
