Biography
Brian Kaufman is a managing director in the real estate group at Blackstone. Originally from Austin, Texas, he has a background in hospitality investment, development and asset management across the United States and Europe.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Kaufman was managing partner of The Kaufman Companies. He also served as senior vice president of acquisitions at Highgate Capital Investment and worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. in the real estate principal investment area.
In 2019, Kaufman received the IHIF and ISHC Young Leader Award at the International Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin. He moved to New York City after earning a Bachelor of Science from the School of Hotel Administration (now the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration) at Cornell University, where he was a two-time All-Ivy League selection and captain of the varsity baseball team.
He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Nolan School and on the board of the Center for Real Estate and Finance at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. Kaufman is also active in Jewish community organizations and serves as vice president of the Altneu Synagogue in New York City.
