Drew David Pascarella

Biography

Drew Pascarella is a teaching professor of finance at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, where he leads the investment banking immersion and teaches courses in core finance, mergers and acquisitions and investment banking essentials. From 2019 to 2022, he served as associate dean for MBA programs, overseeing curriculum, admissions, career services, leadership development and diversity and inclusion initiatives for the Johnson School residential MBA programs.

Pascarella founded Johnson’s Fintech Intensive, delivered each spring at Cornell Tech, and is deeply involved in executive education, working with global corporate clients on finance hard skills and Fintech training. He received the Class of 1992 Apple Award for Teaching Excellence in both 2014 and 2021.

Before joining the Johnson School, Pascarella spent 15 years in bulge bracket investment banking, advising clients on more than $35 billion in merger and acquisition transactions and leading equity, convertible and debt financings totaling more than $9 billion. Most recently, he was a director in Citi’s technology investment banking group. His notable transactions include the formation of Nokia Siemens Networks, Nokia’s $8.1 billion acquisition of NAVTEQ and associated €1.75 billion debt IPO, Andrew Corporation’s $2.6 billion sale to Commscope, Lucent’s $1.62 billion convertible bond offering and multiple private business sales to Cisco. At Citi, he also helped develop and deliver courses for the Investment Banking Associate Training Program. Earlier in his career, he worked at Goldman Sachs as a technology project manager, leading global trading system design and implementation.

In addition to his academic role, Pascarella is managing director and head of East Coast Banking at Vista Point Advisors. He holds an MBA from Cornell University, where he was class co president and a Fried Fellow, and a BBA in computer information systems from James Madison University.
