Biography

D.J. Rama grew up in a hospitality family and developed a deep understanding of the industry early in his career. He earned a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management from Johnson & Wales University and a Master of Management in hospitality from the School of Hotel Administration (now the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration) at Cornell University. He is also a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program. Rama began his career with Holiday Inn Worldwide, Interstate Hotels and Marriott Corp.

Rama is known for his commitment to delivering high-quality hospitality experiences, from design and aesthetics to customer service. His hands-on leadership style, attention to detail and collaborative approach have helped shape the company’s culture. As president, Rama established O.N.E. (Outreach, Nurture, Encourage), the company’s philanthropic initiative focused on supporting education and addressing poverty.

He serves on the owner advisory councils for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts and Marriott Hotels and Resorts.

Beyond his professional work, Rama enjoys time with his family, traveling to unique hotels and cycling.
