Jason Herthel

Biography

Jason Herthel is president and chief operating officer of Montage International, overseeing all operations management, business development and real estate development for the luxury hotel management company. He has served as Montage’s first president and COO since 2015, stewarding the culture of service for which the brand and its international properties are known. Herthel joined Montage in 2011 as executive vice president of acquisitions, development and strategy.

Before joining Montage, Herthel worked in Abu Dhabi as senior vice president of project development for Viceroy Hotel Group. He also served as principal and general counsel for The Setai Group of luxury hotels and resorts. Earlier in his career, Herthel specialized in transactional real estate and business matters for global hospitality clients as an attorney with Paul Hastings.

Herthel holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stanford University.
