Biography
Jay Mantz joined Rialto Capital Management LLC in 2011 and serves as president. Rialto Capital Management, together with its affiliates, is an integrated real estate investment and asset management firm investing across the capital structure in properties, loans and securities. The firm manages $3.9 billion in equity under management and serves as special servicer on approximately $120 billion in commercial mortgage loans.
Prior to joining Rialto, Mantz worked at Morgan Stanley from 1993 to 2011. At Morgan Stanley, he served as head of real estate investing from 2000 to 2005, co-head of the real estate department in 2006, and global co-head of the merchant banking group from 2007 to 2009, overseeing real estate investing funds, the infrastructure fund and other private equity platforms. Mantz was named to the firm’s management committee in 2008.
He graduated as class valedictorian from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at the Questrom School of Business and on the board of the Center for Real Estate and Finance at Cornell University.
