Biography

Jawad M. Addoum is the Dake Family Associate Professor in Applied Economics and Management and an Associate Professor of Finance in the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. Addoum’s research focuses on portfolio choice, empirical asset pricing, and behavioral finance. His current work examines the determinants of investment decision-making among individual and institutional investors, as well as the effects of investor behavior on stock returns. Addoum’s research also contributes to the emerging field of climate finance and has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, and Management Science.

Addoum earned a PhD in finance at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He completed his undergraduate degree in mathematics and statistics at the University of Waterloo, where he was awarded Dean’s Honors. He also holds an undergraduate degree in finance from the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he was a President’s Centennial Scholar.
