Lauren Frederick

Biography

Lauren Frederick is a PhD candidate in accounting at Cornell University’s S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management. Her research uses experimental methods to examine how psychology shapes the production and use of financial information. She studies how features of accounting and investment environments influence managers’ reporting judgments and retail investors’ perceptions and decisions, with particular interest in when interventions designed to improve reporting or decision-making have unintended consequences.

Before beginning her doctoral studies, Lauren worked as an external auditor at Deloitte and later served as an Internal Audit and SOX Compliance Manager at Costco Wholesale. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a recipient of the Deloitte Foundation Doctoral Fellowship.
