United in our commitment to fight racism and foster equity, inclusion, and belonging

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business is resolute that every member of our community must be actively antiracist in order to succeed in combating racism. We are galvanized to eradicate any instances of racism in our community and to cultivate a sense of belonging for everyone. We pledge to educate and develop leaders who understand the importance of creating an inclusive and equitable work environment as they shape the future of business.

Actions Across the College

The steps we are taking span each of our three schools. The deans collaborated with one another and with staff, faculty, and students to identify sets of actions that address issues unique to their cultures and industries and issues that span the whole college.

In listening to our own students, staff, and faculty of color we uncovered instances of structural racism, unconscious bias, and overt racism that cannot and will not be tolerated here. We can and we will do better to ensure an inclusive and equitable environment for every member of our community.

Action Steps Overview

The SC Johnson College leadership team is committed to deepening our community’s understanding of what drives racism and to making changes in the college that are actively antiracist. Here are the preliminary steps we are taking to realize this goal
