What we value
MSBA applicants should be critical thinkers and good communicators with superior oral and written communication skills who want to learn how to solve business problems using data modeling and analysis.
Members of the admissions committee conduct a holistic review of each application. Strong applications to our program will showcase their ability to:
- flourish in a quantitative and rigorous curriculum,
- You don’t need to be a data scientist, programmer, or engineer, but you need to have demonstrated quantitative proficiency with college-level calculus or statistics. Knowledge of programming is a plus, but it is not necessary.
- communicate effectively in written and verbal contexts,
- present a well-considered career plan,
- approach challenges with creativity and ingenuity,
- work effectively in groups and
- make positive contributes to our community and society.
Please note:
- A GMAT or GRE test score is not required.
- International applicants: The M.S. in Business Analytics can accommodate both full-time and part-time study. A student can choose to apply to the Online+ part-time program or residential NYC full-time, but cannot switch between tracks after admission. Please note Cornell does not provide F-1 or J-1 visa sponsorship for part-time study. Students enrolled in the part-time Online+ track are responsible for maintaining their own immigration status or authorization through their primary institution, employer, or other appropriate sponsor. The Cornell Graduate School will issue student visas for full-time students.
