MPS in Applied Economics & Management

Economics is central to how organizations respond to shifting markets, policy changes and global competition. This one-year, STEM-designated MPS in AEM prepares you to apply economic and quantitative analysis to real business and policy decisions.

You’ll develop a working knowledge of econometrics, data analysis and economic modeling, with applications across areas such as financial markets, consumer behavior, technology and public policy. You’ll apply that coursework throughout the program, including a yearlong capstone project in which you work with a team to address a real-world economic or managerial challenge, often in collaboration with an industry partner.

Why this matters now

Markets are evolving quickly. Regulatory environments are shifting. Capital is moving differently. Global competition and policy changes are reshaping industries.

Organizations are operating under increasing uncertainty and relying on those who can interpret what others cannot. The ability to connect economic theory with real-world results is increasingly valuable across business, consulting and policy environments.

Those who can translate complex data into clear insight are increasingly positioned to lead analysis, influence strategy and drive decision-making across organizations.

You learn how to model decisions, interpret economic data and evaluate how markets respond to incentives, policy and competition. The focus is on how that analysis informs decisions.

Through applied projects, real datasets and selection of a specialized concentration, you strengthen how you structure analysis, interpret results and turn information into clear, actionable insight.
