Accounting research at the Johnson School

As part of your Ph.D. in Management course requirements, you’ll complete several electives related to your concentration. This will help you define your dissertation topic. The majority of Ph.D.-level research at Cornell explores topics like:

  • the nature of the auditing process
  • how accounting information is reported to investors, how investors use that information and how it affects stock prices and trading volume
  • how firms use accounting information to make management decisions and compensate employees
