Academic opportunities
FIMP prepares students for careers in food retailing, consumer packaged goods, supply‑chain management and consulting fields.
Courses
Faculty teach courses in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Courses include: Food and Consumer Packaged Goods, Industry Dynamics, Retail and Supply Chain Strategies, Dyson Grand Challenges project section: Zero Hunger, Food Access, and Food Waste, and Food Marketing Fellows. Courses combine economic frameworks with experiential learning, industry data and real‑world cases.
Food Marketing Fellows
An honors program for students with food industry interests and career aspirations. The purpose of the program is to give undergraduate students a focused perspective on the food industry.
Fellows become part of a select group of students who participate in one-of-a-kind experiences.
Food marketing field study course
Each Fellow enrolls in a 1-credit course.
Fall visits
The fall semester includes a series of visits to local manufactures, producers and retailers for an up close view of their activities. Virtual sessions with food space leaders around the country may also be held.
Winter session study trip
In January Fellows travel to study the business and marketing strategies of various food and consumer product companies. This has typically been an international trip.
Field trips
Field trips to industry conventions and case study competitions abound.
High-profile guest speakers
Industry guest speakers and networking opportunities are available through food industry courses.

How to apply
Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year are closed. Applications for the 2027-2028 academic year will open in February of 2027.
