Management and Organizations

Organizations continue to evolve, becoming flatter, more dispersed, and more complex, and our understanding of organizations and the behavior of the people in them must evolve as well. Faculty in the management and organizations area engage in research that seeks to inform the leadership, management, and structure of organizations, the decision-making of individuals in an organization, and the relationship of organizations to their broader institutional and competitive environment. Our research is published in a variety of management, psychology, strategy, law, and hospitality journals, and through this research and our engagement with organizations we contribute to both the academic literature and the practice of management.

Our faculty teach a variety of core and elective classes across the three schools and across undergraduate, professional graduate, and doctoral programs. Courses in the management and organizations area cover topics relating to organizational behavior, leadership, human resources, labor relations, sustainable business, ethics, negotiations, critical thinking, international business, and power in organizations.
