Strategy and Business Economics
Researchers within the strategy and business economics area seek to better understand how markets and business work, and also how they might work better and more efficiently for the benefit of all. Leading areas of expertise include industrial organization and strategy (including antitrust analysis), entrepreneurship and innovation, organizational and personnel economics, and behavioral economics. Rigorous theoretical and empirical tools developed within the broad field of economics often guide this work. In addition to research, members within this area teach a wide range of content including core strategy and microeconomics courses, and elective courses on innovation, entrepreneurship, pricing, macroeconomics and international trade, game theory, and human resource economics.
