Sustainable Tourism Destination Management program
STAMP has created an 8-module self-paced, online course on Sustainable Tourism Destination Management for professionals and students available through eCornell. The course aims to train global hospitality and tourism professionals in using sustainable practices across all areas of the tourism industry. Throughout the courses, innovative, data-driven methods for destination management are delivered by over 25 world-renowned experts in the field.

The program was developed by the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business’ Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise Sustainable Tourism Asset Management Program (STAMP) in partnership with global NGO The Travel Foundation, with financial support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Financial support
With the support and collaboration from UN Tourism, the Travel Foundation and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Cornell’s Sustainable Tourism Asset Management Program (STAMP) is pleased to offer 350 students the opportunity to enroll in the program at no cost.
Eligibility
To be eligible for financial support, applicants must meet the requirements listed below:
- Applicant must reside in an “at-need” country or territory.
- Applicant must be proficient in spoken and written English. English is the language of instruction for this course and students are required to watch video lectures (English transcription available), as well as complete readings, activities, and quizzes.
- Applicant must demonstrate their commitment to applying sustainable tourism principles in one or more tourism destinations. Relevant professional experience and affiliations will be carefully considered.
- Applicant must commit to beginning the course on August 1, 2026 or September 1, 2026, and completing the 40-hour course within 2 months of registration (a commitment of about 5 hours per week)
