Predoctoral Research Fellowship Program

Our Predoctoral Fellowship Program provides one to three years of research experience and professional development training to individuals, typically those interested in pursuing a PhD. Fellows work with multiple core CIDER faculty to gain a breadth of skills and exposure to multiple research projects. Additionally, Fellows supplement their practical research with a catalog of professional development opportunities, including weekly seminars, technical trainings, conferences, audited coursework, and networking.

Join us in 2026! We are recruiting a new cohort of Pre-Doctoral Fellows. Faculty members hiring this year include Chris Barrett, Heather Schofield, and John Hoddinott. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. Fellows are expected to start in July 2026. Interested applicants can find more details and apply through the posting on Cornell Workday. Questions about the position and application can be directed to cider@cornell.edu.
